How is North Korea changing? Let’s ask this British guy who’s been there 143 times.

BEIJING – Relatively few people can say they’ve been to North Korea. But the number of Westerners who've visited repeatedly for 13 years is a very select bunch indeed.

Simon Cockerell is a member of that elite club. As the general manager of Koryo Tours, a British-run, Beijing-based travel agency, he started going to North Korea in 2002. He was going on a tour himself and was still in China when Nick Bonner, the founder of Koryo Tours, offered him a job. He said yes even before he'd set foot in the country.
